WILDFIRES IN COLORADO | Our Story
This is a short film showing our point of view from our time during the Spring Fire in Colorado, summer 2018. Our family, who owns the Dog Bar & Grill in Cuchara, CO, was evacuated from our homes when the fire started. Hot shot crews, along with Colorado National Guardsmen told us this was the most unpredictable fire they had ever fought. It ended up burning over 130,000 acres, destroyed more then 120 homes, and was Colorado's 3rd Worst Wildfire in State History. We were prepped for the biggest weeks of the year over the 4th of July. When we came back to our bar and homes, all of the food was spoiled. Being a seasonal business, this was tough. However, the support from the small town and our loyal customers helped us through. We were also blessed to be able to give our customers an escape and a hot meal to get their minds off of everything that had happened. We are blessed and will be forever thankful to the men and woman who risked their lives to save our small slice of heaven in the mountains of Colorado.
WHAT PUBLIC LAND MEANS TO US | SitkaGear
This is our 30 Second Commercial for SitkaGear for the Backcountry Hunters & Anglers Public Land Film Fest. Last March our grandpa past away from cancer. He was our mentor, our guide, and our best friend. He is the last picture in the video with an elk he took a few years back. These pictures remind me of when he was still strong and how I will always remember him. Public land gave us the opportunity to enjoy special moments between us. It brought us and our cousins together each year to treasure the outdoors and each other. We now have the opportunity to give our kids, and grandkids, those same memories.
